Africa’s creative economy is preparing for a historic moment as Johannesburg gets ready to host the inaugural CR8TOR WEEK AFRICA (CWA) from 24–29 March 2026. The groundbreaking event is expected to bring together creators, founders, cultural leaders, and creative businesses from across Africa and beyond, marking a major milestone for the continent’s fast-growing creative sector.

Positioned as a catalyst for collaboration and innovation, CR8TOR WEEK AFRICA aims to elevate African voices and expand global creative exchange. The week-long event will serve as a platform where ideas, culture, and commerce intersect, showcasing Africa’s rising influence in global storytelling, media, design, technology, and entertainment.

From CR8TORCON to a Continental Movement

CR8TOR WEEK AFRICA builds on the foundation of CR8TORCON, a platform that began years ago as a gathering for creatives and innovators. Following an intimate launch event in 2024 that connected diverse creative communities in South Africa, the initiative has now evolved into a continent-wide movement.

The 2026 edition marks the formal expansion of the CR8TORCON vision beyond South Africa’s borders, transforming it into a flagship event for Africa’s rapidly expanding creator ecosystem. By bringing together multidisciplinary talent and industry leaders, the event aims to strengthen collaboration, inspire new business models, and challenge traditional perceptions of creative work.

A Platform for Creative Influence

Designed at the intersection of purpose, culture, and commerce, CR8TOR WEEK AFRICA highlights Johannesburg’s growing status as a creative and cultural hub. The event will spotlight how Africa’s creative economy is maturing, attracting investment, and shaping global trends.

Attendees can expect a vibrant programme featuring immersive talks, DJ performances, collaborative networking sessions, and creative showcases. These experiences are designed to spark dialogue, encourage partnerships, and inspire new opportunities across the continent.

The event will also host a lineup of influential panelists including Sean Brown, Francois Ferreira, Nene Mahlangu, Simhle Plaatjies, Jena Dominique, and Sne Mbatha, who will share their insights and experiences with an audience of emerging and established creatives.

“This is where ideas meet collaboration, connections evolve through lived experience, and conversations are championed to drive meaningful impact,”.
