AMAPIANO AFRICA AWARDS SET TO MAKE HISTORY AT SUN CITY THIS NOVEMBER
15 November 2025 All day
Celebrate the Transformative Impact of Amapiano
A new chapter in African music history is set to unfold as the inaugural Amapiano Africa Awards light up the legendary Sun City Resort on 15 November 2025. This momentous occasion will bring together pioneers, hitmakers, and cultural innovators to celebrate the transformative impact of Amapiano—a genre that started in South Africa’s townships and now resonates on global stages.
Under the banner “Celebrate the Transformative Impact of Amapiano,” the Awards go beyond recognition—they amplify a movement. They honour the producers, DJs, vocalists, street dancers, and visionaries who’ve shaped Amapiano into a defining sound of a generation and a cultural export influencing fashion, dance, and identity worldwide.
The Amapiano Africa Awards build on the success of the Amapiano Africa Summit, a powerful two-year dialogue hub that convened industry leaders, creatives, and policymakers to explore the genre’s potential. The Awards now carry this legacy forward—offering a platform that not only entertains, but educates, empowers, and elevates.
Categories will range from Best Vocalist and Producer of the Year to Best Amapiano Street Dancer and International Breakthrough Artist, shining a spotlight on both emerging talent and seasoned trailblazers. Fans can anticipate a star-studded red carpet, high-energy performances, and unforgettable cultural moments that define this new era.
Before the main event, a series of country launch activations and media engagements across Africa will build anticipation and connect the Amapiano community continent-wide. And soon, nominations will open via the official platform at amapiano.global, inviting fans, artists, and industry stakeholders to participate in shaping the genre’s legacy.
As the beat drops at Sun City, it will echo far beyond South Africa’s borders. Because this isn’t just an award show—it’s a movement. One that honours a sound born from the streets, and destined for the world.
Join the movement. Honour the artists. Celebrate the sound. Ignite the future.
