Love, fame and family rarely make for a simple combination. For Nelly and Ashanti, the stakes are even higher because their relationship has already lived through a decade apart — and now their second chance is playing out in front of the cameras.

Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together arrives on Bravo Africa with an intimate look at what happens when two global music stars move from a revived romance into marriage, parenthood and building a new family life together.
The series premiered on 6 September 2026 at 7PM on Bravo Africa (DStv 124), launching with two episodes before moving into a weekly Sunday schedule. The season concludes with a two-part finale on 11 October.
A Second Chance Under the Spotlight
The appeal isn’t simply seeing two famous musicians together again. It’s watching what happens after the romantic comeback story.
Nelly and Ashanti rekindled their relationship after being separated for 10 years. Now married and raising a baby, the couple are navigating the less glamorous — and considerably more relatable — realities of building a life together.
Different parenting styles, disagreements about where to live and the pressure of demanding careers become part of the story.
For audiences accustomed to seeing celebrity relationships through perfectly curated social media posts, the series promises a different perspective: what happens when the cameras stick around for the conversations, compromises and disagreements behind the glamour?
When Music Meets Family Life
Their careers aren’t taking a back seat either.
The couple’s world continues to include major performances, celebrations and high-profile appearances, including singing at the World Series and throwing elaborate birthday celebrations.
That creates one of the show’s central tensions: how do two people maintain superstar careers while creating stability at home?
It’s a question that extends beyond celebrity culture. Balancing ambition, relationships, family responsibilities and personal priorities is familiar territory for anyone trying to build a life while keeping up with everything else.
Can Love Survive the Real Stuff?
At its heart, We Belong Together is built around compromise.
Nelly and Ashanti are learning when to push an issue, when to pick their battles and when meeting somewhere in the middle matters more than getting their own way.
That makes their story less about a nostalgic music-industry romance and more about what comes after the comeback.
Produced by Jenny Daly, Lauren Lazin, J Erving and Tina Douglas, with Nelly Haynes and Ashanti Haynes also serving as executive producers, the series is executive produced and showrun by Oji Singletary.
For viewers, the question isn’t simply whether Nelly and Ashanti belong together. It’s whether two people with very public lives can build something private, lasting and genuinely theirs.
