ULTRA South Africa 2026 Delivers a Masterclass in Production and Performance
ULTRA South Africa marked a historic milestone with its 11th edition, delivering a spectacular showcase of music, culture, and cutting-edge production across Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Spanning two electrifying days, the festival transformed the long weekend into a nationwide celebration of electronic music. Kicking off at the Expo Centre Nasrec before heading to The Ostrich, ULTRA South Africa once again proved why it remains one of the continent’s premier music festivals.

A Weekend of World-Class Performances
Fans packed both venues from early afternoon until the early hours, soaking in an unforgettable lineup of global superstars and local trailblazers. The Main Stage delivered non-stop highlights, with Afrojack and R3hab igniting the crowd with a high-energy back-to-back set.

Swedish House Mafia legend Axwell followed with a powerful performance that blended nostalgia with fresh energy, while DJ Snake delivered one of the weekend’s standout moments—bringing out Bantu for a surprise live performance of their new collaboration Company.

Closing the night in style, John Summit kept the energy alive with a dynamic set that carried fans deep into the early hours.
RESISTANCE Stage and Underground Sounds
The RESISTANCE Stage once again catered to lovers of deeper, underground sounds. House legend Dennis Ferrer and South Africa’s own Shimza led the charge, delivering rich blends of melodic techno, progressive house, and Afro-house.

Supporting acts such as Kyle Watson, DJ Kent, Major League DJz, and Caiiro added depth and diversity across the lineup, showcasing the strength of both international and local talent.
A defining highlight came in Johannesburg when Afrojack joined Shimza for a surprise back-to-back set—an electrifying fusion of styles that had the crowd fully locked in.

A Celebration of African Sound
Beyond the main stages, ULTRA South Africa continued to spotlight the continent’s vibrant soundscape. The Groove Room delivered a powerful mix of Amapiano and Afrobeats, featuring names like DBN Gogo, Oscar Mbo, and Sun-El Musician.
Meanwhile, the Confessions Stage ZA takeover pushed sonic boundaries with emerging talent, reinforcing the festival’s role as a platform for innovation and discovery.

Now in its 11th year, ULTRA South Africa continues to evolve while staying rooted in its core mission—bringing people together through music. The 2026 edition stood as a celebration of unity, creativity, and South Africa’s growing influence on the global electronic music scene.
