5FM Announces Red-Hot New Line-Up for 2026
5FM, South Africa’s favourite youth radio station, has officially unveiled its highly anticipated 2026 on-air line-up—bringing with it bold new voices, refreshed programming, and an even deeper connection to the ever-evolving pulse of Mzansi’s youth culture.
Positioning itself as more than just a radio station, 5FM continues to cement its role as a cultural powerhouse—blending music, real-time conversations, and creator-driven content into a dynamic, multi-platform experience. The new line-up reflects the station’s commitment to staying relevant, engaging, and deeply in tune with the lives of young South Africans.
Fresh Shows, New Energy
Among the standout updates is 5 Mid Mornings with Karabo, airing weekdays from 09h00 to 12h00. Hosted by Karabo Ntshweng, the show delivers a vibrant mix of music, engaging conversations, and interactive segments tailored for young professionals and students navigating ambition, wellness, and social life.
Midday gets a major boost with 5 Lunch, hosted by Lula Odiba alongside Nadia Romanos (12h00–15h00). A highlight of the show is the popular 5 Listening Sessions, where top local artists perform live, debut new music, and share exclusive insights into their careers.
Weekends also get a powerful refresh. The Sunday Social Club on 5, hosted by Harrison Mkhize (10h00–14h00), is set to become the ultimate youth culture roundup—bringing social media trends, breaking news, and influencer-driven content straight to the airwaves. It’s a must-listen for anyone wanting to stay plugged into what’s shaping the culture.
Revamped Nights and Weekend Vibes
Weeknights are re-energised with 5 Nights (Monday to Thursday, 19h00–22h00), now hosted by Jodell Tantij. The show focuses on music discovery and youth-driven conversations, including the exciting PH & Friends segment featuring DJ PH in exclusive mixes and interviews.
Late-night listeners can unwind with 5 After Hours with Boipelo Mooketsi (22h00–01h00), offering a bold blend of trending topics, music, and late-night energy.
Fridays turn up the heat with Party with PH (18h00–22h00), where DJ PH delivers high-energy mixes to kickstart the weekend. Meanwhile, Taste The Weekend with Taste Champagne (Saturdays and Sundays, 22h00–01h00) provides the perfect late-night soundtrack filled with vibrant mixes and personality.
Honouring Legacy While Embracing the Future
5FM also paid tribute to key contributors who helped shape the station’s success, including Roger Goode, Stephanie Be, and Leah Jazz. As they move on to new opportunities, the station acknowledges their impact and wishes them continued success.
Masi Mdingane, Business Manager for 5FM and Good Hope FM, emphasised the vision behind the new direction:
“Our 2026 line-up strengthens 5FM’s position as South Africa’s youth platform—bold, relevant and deeply connected to the culture young people are creating every day. This line-up is designed to truly impact listeners and keep 5FM at the centre of youth conversations.”
