Diteboho Unveils Inner Gaze: A Spiritual and Jazz-Rooted Solo Piano Journey
South African Pianist Diteboho Announces the Official Release of Inner Gaze, a Solo Piano Offering Rooted in Spirit, Introspection, and Jazz
Pianist, composer, and music scholar Diteboho proudly announces the official release of his latest project, Inner Gaze — the first volume in his Inner Gaze: Solo Piano Series — available today on all digital streaming platforms.
This introspective work marks the beginning of a three-part journey through sound and spirit, opening with the four-movement suite Pitso, a meditative exploration of calling, identity, and faith rooted in South African jazz pianism.
A multifaceted music practitioner — pianist, vocalist, arranger, producer, and educator — Diteboho’s artistry merges South African jazz, choral traditions, gospel, neo-soul, and global influences into a signature sound that is both grounded and transcendent. Inner Gaze stands as his most personal work to date: a spiritual reflection on the tension between divine purpose and human will.
The Essence of Inner Gaze
At the heart of the project is the suite Pitso — a Sesotho term meaning “a calling.” In Diteboho’s interpretation, a calling is not merely received but interrogated. Through four movements, he invites listeners to contemplate faith, purpose, and identity, engaging with the timeless theological dialogue between predestination and free will.
Blending South African jazz improvisation, gospel warmth, and classical structure, Diteboho crafts a meditative sonic landscape that draws listeners into stillness and introspection — a sacred space where sound becomes a form of prayer.

Visual and Live Experience
Ahead of the full release, Diteboho unveiled a visualiser for Pitso: Movement I on 24 October 2025, offering a serene visual extension of the album’s minimalist and contemplative mood. Created in collaboration with Top Hat, known for their refined formalwear aesthetics, the visual captures the project’s themes of reverence, identity, and inner reflection.
To celebrate the release, Diteboho will host an exclusive, invite-only EP launch event on 9 November 2025 in Johannesburg. Guests will experience Inner Gaze performed live in an intimate setting — a communion of sound and spirit as Diteboho guides listeners through the essence of conviction and introspection.
