Huawei Pura 80 Series Arrives in South Africa with Next-Level Photography and Head-Turning Design
Huawei has officially introduced its much-anticipated Pura 80 Series in South Africa, redefining what’s possible in mobile photography. The Pura 80 Pro leads the lineup with a powerful 1-inch Ultra Lighting Camera sensor, making it the only non-Ultra smartphone to feature such groundbreaking imaging technology — delivering stunning results day and night.
A Leap Forward in Smartphone Photography
Building on Huawei’s legacy of camera innovation, the Pura 80 Pro comes equipped with a 50MP Ultra Lighting Camera that uses a 1-inch RYYB sensor and a 10-stop variable aperture (F1.6–F4.0). This allows users to shoot professional-quality photos with enhanced light sensitivity, exceptional dynamic range, and DSLR-like depth control.
Whether you’re capturing portraits in golden hour sunlight or cityscapes at night, the camera adapts intelligently to lighting conditions, producing rich details and striking clarity. With Super HDR, Super Night Mode, and AI scene detection, users can expect vivid colours and dynamic tones even in the trickiest environments.
Other key lenses in the triple-camera system include a 48MP Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto Camera (F2.1, OIS) and a 40MP ultra-wide lens, rounding out the Pro’s ultra-versatile photography suite.
For the Creatives and the Curious
Huawei didn’t stop at one breakthrough. The Pura 80 Ultra model adds dual telephoto zoom, a 16 EV dynamic range, and even more pro-level imaging enhancements. However, it retains the shared strengths of the Pro model, including the 1-inch sensor and Ultra Chroma Camera technology that fine-tunes hues on a pixel-by-pixel level for authentic, true-to-life colour.
Iconic Design Meets Intelligent Innovation
The Pura 80 Pro is more than a photography powerhouse — it’s a design masterpiece. Inspired by Italian jewellery and cross-cultural aesthetics, the phone features a Silk-Textured Frame and comes in two premium colourways: Glazed Red and Glazed Black.
Its 6.8-inch HUAWEI X-True Display™ delivers an immersive visual experience with a 1–120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling, and peak brightness of 3000 nits — perfect for both content creation and consumption.
Seamless Performance and Everyday Convenience
Powered by EMUI 15, the Pura 80 Pro includes smart features like AI Messaging, AI Gesture Controls, and a Smart Control Button with fingerprint recognition. It’s secured against water and dust with IP68/IP69 ratings and houses a 5170mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 80W wireless HUAWEI SuperCharge — so you’re always ready to go.
