Since its quiet drop in March, “US” by Nigerian singer-songwriter Swayvee has quietly become a global phenomenon. Without viral gimmicks or TikTok challenges, the track has touched hearts with its raw vulnerability — a love song for those navigating connection in uncertain times. With over 8 million global streams and 1.5 million TikTok creations, “US” has proved that authenticity still wins.
Now, Swayvee continues the track’s emotional journey with a South African remix featuring Young Stunna — a generational talent and one of the most compelling voices in Amapiano. Known for his street-born lyricism and genre-bending delivery, Stunna uses this remix to bare his soul.
“Uthando lwam luhamba neyi
mali zam sthandwa sam
angina skhathi nakho
mengi nawe ngiyajabula
sthandwa ngizohlala ngenz’ iplan”
These words, roughly translating to “I love money, I hardly get time to chill and show you the love I have for you (because I’m always working),” cut deep. They reflect the balancing act of love and ambition — a theme resonating across Africa’s youth.
What makes this remix unforgettable is its cultural chemistry. Swayvee’s warm Nigerian melodies meet Stunna’s Zulu confessions, crafting a song that feels like a shared diary between two regions. It’s not just a remix — it’s a pan-African reset, bridging West and South sonically and emotionally.
The remix is already making waves. A teaser performance by Young Stunna at Haus of Kuhl in Johannesburg on 15 June lit up social media and the live crowd. On Instagram, the video has surpassed 1.1 million views, while TikTok is buzzing with remakes, lyric breakdowns, and fan reactions to the emotional performance.
A full music video is currently in production, and fans can expect joint media appearances from Swayvee and Young Stunna across South Africa and Nigeria this June, marking a pivotal moment in cross-continental collaboration.
Whether you’re in Lagos or Johannesburg, one thing is certain — “US” isn’t just a song. It’s a feeling. And with this remix, it now speaks even more languages of the heart.
