Searchlight Ft. Manny – Long Time

Following on from the release of their debut, self-titled album, Searchlight, Irish producers Cian McCann and Dom Purcell (aka Zero T & Beta 2), return to Goldie’s Fallen Tree 1Hundred label with a brand-new song and featured vocalist…

Searchlight

Milton Keynes-based vocalist Manny first featured on a collaboration with Zero T and jazz- pianist Onj, on their 2022 drum and bass single Lifetime. It was those recording sessions in London that led directly to the creation of ‘Long Time’, a brand-new song for Searchlight as they expand in personnel and kick-start phase 2 of their story. The single’s release will see Manny continue building his name as a vocalist, following on from his collaborations with Vibe Chemistry, Lauren Paige and esteemed London bassist, Rudi Creswick.

Manny

The song builds from Onj’s compelling piano theme before regular multi-instrumentalist, Sam Mahoney aka Ishfaq adds his epic horns to Searchlight’s percussion-led groove. Manny’s searching vocals complete the near four minutes of straight-up, soul-fire and with its distinctly Chicago/Detroit edge, ‘Long Time’ feels akin to a classic Moodymann or Amp Fiddler record – effortlessly bringing heat to the dancefloor.
