The highly anticipated Proudly South African Local Wine Expo is returning in full-bodied fashion from 24 to 27 July 2025 at the iconic Prison Break Market in Johannesburg. With the theme Local wine serves the best sip, the expo promises to uncork the best of South Africa’s vineyards—celebrated and undiscovered alike.

Now a staple on the wine-tasting calendar, the 2025 edition brings together around 30 local wine producers, providing a platform where consumers and trade professionals can indulge in premium local vintages. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or a casual enthusiast, this is your chance to explore the rich diversity of Mzansi’s wine culture.

An Expo That Elevates Local Talent

This year’s Local Wine Expo isn’t just a tasting event—it’s a celebration of excellence. Proudly SA, in partnership with Prison Break Market, continues to empower emerging winemakers by offering access-to-market opportunities that place their bottles next to industry heavyweights.

A special Buyers’ Session on Thursday, 24 July is exclusively curated for trade buyers and retailers, providing a valuable networking space to discover new varietals, negotiate listings, and support homegrown brands that deserve their place on store shelves and wine menus.

Happy Makhumalo Ngidi, Chief Marketing Officer of Proudly SA, emphasized the event’s significance:
