The nominees for the 13th Savanna Comics’ Choice Comedy Awards have officially been revealed, marking a major milestone in South Africa’s entertainment calendar. The annual awards celebrate the comedians and creators who have defined the past year of local humour, highlighting the diversity and growth of the country’s comedy scene.
Hosted at BlackBrick Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, the nominee announcement event brought together some of the biggest names in comedy. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as performers awaited confirmation of their recognition among the industry’s best.

- Breakthrough Act of the Year

Comedy lovers can vote online or via SMS, with voting closing at midnight on 15 April 2026. Fans who participate also stand a chance to win tickets to attend the main awards event.
Awards Night Details
Winners will be announced on Saturday, 2 May 2026, at Gold Reef City’s Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg. The ceremony promises to be a highlight on the entertainment calendar, bringing together the country’s top comedic talent for a night of celebration.
Adding to the excitement, the event will be hosted by the Goliath family—Jason, Donovan, Nicholas, and Kate Goliath—delivering a rare and dynamic hosting collaboration packed with humour and chemistry.
