Celebrated South African pianist, composer, and scholar Dr Sibusiso Mash Mashiloane is set to take audiences on a soulful journey as he embarks on his ISIGQI Tour this October. The tour brings his latest album, ISIGQI – Live at the bird’s eye, to life with two highly anticipated performances in Cape Town (5 October) and Johannesburg (11 October).
Although the album was released earlier this year, this marks Mashiloane’s first national tour with ISIGQI, giving fans a long-awaited chance to experience his music in a live, communal setting. The performances are supported by Concerts SA, a joint South African/Norwegian initiative backed by the SAMRO Foundation, the National Treasury’s Jobs Fund, and the Festival Enterprise Catalyst.
Cape Town – 5 October | Youngblood Gallery

The Cape Town performance will take place at the Youngblood Gallery, a space where music and visual art intersect. This intimate acoustic show will feature Mashiloane on grand piano, joined by Ntokozo Kunene (vocals) and Justin Bellairs (saxophone).
“I have a special relationship with Cape Town and its warm audience. Performing ISIGQI in such an art-filled space feels like a true home-coming,”
says Mashiloane.
Johannesburg – 11 October | Untitled Basement

The Johannesburg leg will be hosted at the Untitled Basement, a venue celebrated for showcasing South Africa’s most forward-thinking jazz and soul artists. For this performance, Mashiloane will be joined by Sphelelo Mazibuko (drums), Dalisu Ndlazi (bass guitar), and Kagiso Ramela (saxophone).
“Johannesburg has always pushed my creativity, with its unmatched energy. I am excited to share ISIGQI with the city in this space that celebrates original music,”.
