The Corona Sunsets Festival World Tour in Cape Town isn’t just another festival; it’s an experience that captures the essence of the Corona brand in every detail. As someone who had attended just one other Corona Sunsets Festival before this—an event in Hartbeespoort with a memorable lineup but hindered by rain—I was hoping for better weather this time around. Earlier in the year, Cape Town’s April festival had to be canceled due to weather, so there was some nervousness about whether the event would go as planned. Fortunately, Cape Town’s weather held up, and we were treated to an unforgettable experience, one that could only be fully appreciated here on this iconic coast.

As the sun began to set over Clifton’s shores, a sold-out crowd of 6,000 local and international festivalgoers gathered to watch the awe-inspiring “Sunset Sync” show. The show cast a warm, golden glow over the festival, adding to the atmosphere of music, relaxation, and a deep connection with nature that has come to define the Corona Sunsets Festival World Tour.

Set against the dramatic beauty of Cape Town’s coastline, the festival featured a standout lineup of both local and international acts. Notable performances included UK artists Nightmares on Wax and Tsha, Italy’s MoBlack, and South African favorites Sun-El Musician and Bantwanas. The event closed with a dazzling fireworks display at the main stage, which stood out with its symbolic Mandala design—a visual representation of the festival’s spirit.
“Performing in South Africa, with its profound house music legacy, energized crowd, and beautiful setting, was an incredible experience here in Cape Town.”
Reflecting on the event, MoBlack commented,
The Corona Sunsets Festival World Tour, a global music and lifestyle event, has carved out a unique identity by celebrating music and mindfulness while raising environmental awareness. The tour began in Cape Town in 2023, transforming iconic beach destinations around the world into stages where music and nature unite. Cape Town’s backdrop provided the perfect setting for the tour’s mission of connecting audiences with nature through powerful experiences and an emphasis on sustainability.

Under the theme “More Than Music,” this year’s festival celebrated mindful living and environmental consciousness. The experience began the moment festivalgoers arrived, greeted by South African artist Daniel Popper’s “Nature’s Goddess,” a massive sculpture symbolizing humanity’s bond with the natural world. An opening ceremony set a reverent tone with poet Siphokazi Jonas and a symbolic stone-casting ritual led by spiritual healer Nkosenathi Koela.

Festivalgoers enjoyed more than music, with a range of immersive activities that included organic cuisine, yoga and meditation sessions, and art installations focused on ocean conservation. Each experience was designed to foster relaxation and appreciation for nature.

The second day offered “Corona Sunsets Unwind” at The Lawns in Camps Bay, where guests engaged in wellness experiences like guided nature walks, yoga, ice baths, and meditation sessions. The highlight of the day was a downtempo silent disco at sunset, headlined by Nightmares on Wax, which created a peaceful yet vibrant end to the festival weekend.
“Corona Sunsets Festival celebrates life’s simple, powerful moments—reconnecting with nature and mindfulness. Cape Town’s coastline perfectly showcased our commitment to sustainability, offering an escape from daily life.”
