14 October All day
After travelling through Johannesburg and Durban, Saudi Film Nights reaches its final South African stop in Cape Town on 14 October.
The programme will take over the historic Labia Theatre, giving Cape Town audiences an opportunity to experience contemporary Saudi cinema and engage with the stories, ideas and perspectives shaping a new generation of Saudi filmmakers.
More Than Just a Screening
The Cape Town leg is not simply about watching films on the big screen. The programme is designed to encourage conversation between audiences and filmmakers, creating space to explore the cultural and creative ideas behind the work.
Across the tour, Saudi Film Nights has brought stories dealing with family, relationships, identity, work, grief and social expectations — themes that can connect audiences across borders despite very different cultural contexts.
A Cultural Exchange Through Film
For Cape Town‘s creative community, the final screening also represents an opportunity to discover filmmaking voices that may be less familiar to South African audiences.
By bringing Saudi filmmakers and South African audiences into the same space, the programme opens the door to conversations about storytelling, creative practice and potential connections between the two film industries.
At the Labia Theatre, Saudi Film Nights closes its South African tour with cinema as the meeting point — connecting cultures one story at a time.
