From the Township to the World: Vincent Mosebe Powers Change Through Innovation
In an age where sustainability, digital access, and clean energy are no longer optional but essential, Vincent Mosebe, founder of Mosebe Enterprise, is proving that world-changing innovation can emerge from the heart of South Africa’s townships.
A passionate entrepreneur and participant in the ORT Jet Programme, Vincent has dedicated the last few years not just to creating products—but to building solutions rooted in real community needs. His path recently led him to two influential stages where his mission to innovate for social good made a global impression: the BRICS+ Youth Innovation Summit and the Youth Energy Summit (YES!) 2025.

Innovating From the Margins: BRICS+ Youth Innovation Summit
At the BRICS+ Youth Innovation Summit, held under the theme “Technology for Sustainability and Social Good,” Vincent and his team introduced the Tshepo Series—solar-powered energy solutions built using refurbished e-waste. Leading the showcase was Tshepo V3, a compact, solar-powered unit that supplies electricity to students, small businesses, and households in underserved, off-grid communities. It powers essentials like routers, lights, and laptops—keeping people connected, safe, and productive.
Among fierce competition from global innovators across the BRICS and Global South nations, Vincent’s team clinched second place, a recognition of their community-first approach and proof that sustainable tech doesn’t have to sacrifice affordability.
“We’re not just solving a technical problem. We’re solving a human one.”

Winning Big at YES! 2025
Shortly after BRICS+, Vincent’s journey continued at YES! 2025 (Youth Energy Summit)—a gathering of over 3,000 young African leaders reimagining the continent’s energy future. Vincent seized this platform not only to network and learn—but to win first place in the Entrepreneur’s Launchpad.
Despite the accolade, what left the biggest impression on him was the shared energy and ambition of Africa’s youth.
“It was electrifying. Being surrounded by so many driven young minds reminded me that the future is collaborative.”
He left YES! with more than a trophy—he gained a new teammate in a young chemical engineering student and sparked conversations around expanding his technology to agriculture and micro-enterprise support.
Grounded in Community, Powered by Purpose
For Vincent, global success is simply a stepping stone for deeper impact at home. Mosebe Enterprise is now scaling up Tshepo V3 production, with new ventures in AI, security, and education also in the pipeline. Each move remains grounded in a mission to empower underserved communities through accessible innovation.
“We need to think bigger but act locally. The summit reminded me that real impact starts at home.”
Backed by a Strong Foundation: ORT Jet
Vincent credits part of his growth to the support received from ORT Jet, a platform dedicated to nurturing South African entrepreneurs.
“ORT Jet has been a game-changer. They don’t just support your business—they support the person behind it.”
Through mentorship, market exposure, and holistic development, ORT Jet has helped amplify his vision and sharpen his strategy.

Advice to Fellow Changemakers
Vincent’s message to young African innovators is rooted in resilience and self-belief:
“Start where you are. Use what you have. Stay grounded in your mission. And never underestimate the power of your story—people invest in people before products.”
What’s Next?
With expanding partnerships, a growing team, and international momentum, Vincent is focused on building more than a business—he’s cultivating an ecosystem of innovation, education, and empowerment that can uplift entire communities.
“The summit ignited a deeper fire in me, not just to grow, but to make sure others rise with us.”
