SUMMARY:16 Days of Activism Short Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Leaders In Motion Academy (LIMA) is set to deliver a powerful contribution to the national 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign with a public screening of 16 impactful GBVF short films. The screening will take place on 09 December 2025 at Killarney Cineplex\, Johannesburg\, the official venue partner for the event. Members of the public are invited to attend between 14:00 and 17:30. \n\n\n\nThis initiative reaffirms LIMA’s commitment to combating gender-based violence and femicide by harnessing the influence of storytelling. Through film\, audiences are offered a meaningful platform to confront the realities of GBVF while also engaging in constructive dialogue and reflection. Each short film presents lived experiences\, themes of prevention\, and stories of resilience\, highlighting how creative expression can educate\, heal\, and drive societal change. \n\n\n\nThe screenings form part of LIMA’s transformative 16 Filmmakers Project\, an initiative intentionally designed to uplift emerging African storytellers—many of whom enter the programme with no prior access\, experience\, or formal training. Through mentorship\, hands-on learning\, and real-world exposure\, these young creatives are empowered to produce authentic narratives that address urgent social issues and inspire change within their communities. \n\n\n\nThe event is supported by Henley Business School\, whose involvement reinforces a shared commitment to developing the next generation of creative leaders and amplifying voices advocating for a safer\, more equitable society. POWER FM joins as the official radio partner\, further extending the reach and impact of the campaign. \n\n\n\nLIMA encourages the public to attend\, engage\, and contribute to the ongoing national dialogue surrounding GBVF. By standing together\, communities can champion awareness\, education\, and collective responsibility. \n\n\n\nPartners: \n\n\n\n\nLeaders In Motion Academy (LIMA)\n\n\n\nKillarney Cineplex (Venue Partner)\n\n\n\nHenley Business School (Supporting Partner)\n\n\n\nPOWER FM (Radio Partner)
