DESCRIPTION:The Green Youth Network proudly marks a significant milestone as it hosts the 10th Annual Green Youth Indaba (GYI)\, from 19–20 June 2025 at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC). Under the powerful theme “A Decade of Action: Driving Sustainable Innovation\,” this year’s Indaba commemorates ten years of youth-led climate action\, innovation\, and green entrepreneurship in South Africa. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOver the past decade\, the Green Youth Indaba has emerged as South Africa’s leading platform for amplifying youth voices within the green economy\, empowering changemakers to drive solutions for environmental justice and sustainable development. The 2025 edition promises to be the most dynamic yet\, drawing over 500 delegates\, 60 speakers\, and 50 exhibitors\, including climate activists\, innovators\, policymakers\, researchers\, development partners\, and corporate leaders. \n\n\n\nPre-Indaba Impact Activities \n\n\n\nIn alignment with Youth Day (16 June)—a day of remembrance and inspiration—the Green Youth Indaba kicks off with impact-driven pre-event activities from 16–18 June. These include: \n\n\n\n\nBeach Clean-Up at Dakota Beach: Mobilising youth volunteers to promote environmental responsibility and civic action.\n\n\n\nGreen Youth Careers Expo: Showcasing green career pathways\, bursary options\, and internships for learners in Grade 9 to 12.\n\n\n\nWorkshops on key topics such as wastepreneurship\, agriculture and food security\, water conservation\, and renewable energy solutions.\n\n\n\n\nA Legacy of Impact \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n“As we celebrate a decade of the Green Youth Indaba\, we’re not just marking time — we are celebrating a movement that has shifted the narrative of youth in climate action and the green economy.
