GO BOS OR GO HOME: BOS ICE TEA TURNS ROSEBANK INTO JOBURG’S NEW CREATIVE PLAYGROUND

28 August @ 9:00 am – 30 August @ 5:00 pm

Johannesburg is not a city that waits for permission. It creates, hustles, connects, experiments, celebrates, and somehow turns an ordinary Saturday into a story worth telling.

This weekend, BOS Ice Tea is tapping directly into that energy with the arrival of the BOS Studio, a colourful, immersive creative pop-up transforming Rosebank into a space where Joburgers can forget the rules and simply go BOS.

Running from 28 – 30 August, the BOS Studio is less a traditional art space and more of a creative playground. Think music, paint, blank walls, colour, good energy, and absolutely no pressure to be the next Picasso.

You don’t need to call yourself an artist. You don’t need a portfolio. You don’t even need to know what you’re going to create. You just need to show up.

This is Joburg creativity without the pressure

Johannesburg has always had its own creative rhythm. From fashion and music to street culture, design, food, photography, and entrepreneurship, the city is constantly turning ideas into experiences. The BOS Studio is designed to give that creativity somewhere to breathe.

“There’s an incredible creative energy in Joburg, but between the daily grind we don’t always get the space to use it,”

says William Battersby, CEO of BOS Ice Tea.

“We wanted the BOS Studio to provide an unexpected opportunity to share your creativity. A place to switch off, pick up a brush, and create without overthinking.”

And that’s probably the point. In a city where everyone is constantly working on the next thing, the BOS Studio is an invitation to do something for no reason other than because you feel like it.

No workshop. No rulebook. Just BOS.

Forget the intimidating art-gallery energy. There are no formal classes. No step-by-step instructions. No pressure to create something Instagram-perfect. Instead, visitors can walk in, grab a brush, pick up some paint, and add their own energy to the space.

You might arrive with a fully formed idea. You might spend five minutes staring at a blank wall before putting down one giant yellow stroke. Both are completely acceptable. And if your last serious artistic moment happened somewhere around Grade 3 finger painting, you’re still invited. Because the BOS Studio isn’t really about creating the “perfect” artwork. It’s about participating.

One giant creative portrait of Johannesburg

The most exciting part is that nobody knows exactly what the final artwork will look like. Across the three-day experience, individual marks, colours, shapes and spontaneous creations will gradually come together to form one evolving collective portrait of Johannesburg. In other words, the city gets to paint itself.

Every visitor becomes part of the final piece, from professional creatives and designers to students, entrepreneurs, music lovers, weekend explorers, and anyone who simply wants to do something different. That’s where the BOS lifestyle comes into play. BOS isn’t positioning iced tea as something you simply pull out of the fridge when you’re thirsty. It’s becoming part of a broader attitude: be curious, be creative, get involved, don’t take everything so seriously, now and then, go BOS.

Where to find the BOS Studio

The BOS Studio will be open from:

28 – 30 August 2026
09:00 – 17:00 daily
Rosebank, Johannesburg
Between Rosebank Mall and The Zone, directly outside the mall’s Woolworths entrance.

Look for the bright yellow. Entry is free, and everyone is welcome.

So whether you’re looking for something different to do this weekend, you’re deep in your creative era, you’re a Joburg culture junkie, or you’re simply curious about what happens when you give an entire city permission to make a mess go find the yellow room. Bring your friends. Bring your ideas. Bring your camera. And most importantly, don’t overthink it.

Go BOS or go home.

This isn’t just another brand activation. It’s a weekend experience built around the same things that make Joburg exciting: creativity, culture, community, lifestyle, and self-expression. And that’s exactly where BOS Ice Tea can live: not just in the fridge, but in the moments, places, and experiences that make a lifestyle feel like yours.
