Launched under the campaign theme “GREATNESS IS TIMELESS,” the jersey reimagines the iconic adidas Liverpool FC home shirt worn between 1989 and 1991. That legendary kit became synonymous with success, including Liverpool’s 1989/90 league title-winning campaign under manager Kenny Dalglish.
The new jersey features a rich deep-red base enhanced by a contemporary all-over geometric print inspired by the original late-80s design. Using advanced AI technology, club legends Ian Rush, John Barnes, Alan Hansen, and Bruce Grobbelaar have been recreated as they appeared in 1989, wearing the original jersey that inspired the latest design. The legendary quartet appears alongside current stars Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and Mia Enderby, showcasing how Liverpool’s legacy continues to inspire future generations.
Beyond its heritage-inspired aesthetics, the 2026/27 Home Jersey has been engineered for elite-level performance. The on-field version incorporates lightweight, body-mapped 3D engineered fabrics designed to improve comfort, mobility, and fit. adidas’ latest CLIMACOOL+ technology helps wick sweat away more efficiently, keeping players cooler and drier throughout matches.
