Africa Is Not A Jungle x Smirnoff ICE: Durban’s Sold-Out Celebration of African Creativity & Purpose

This past weekend, Durban came alive as Africa Is Not A Jungle returned for a sold-out showcase at the Durban Botanic Gardens — a powerful celebration of music, creativity, and African excellence. Partnering with Smirnoff ICE, the event embodied the vibrant energy of South Africa’s sound and spirit, while supporting the Black Coffee Foundation in its mission to empower communities and uplift young creatives.

Headlined by Black Coffee, the show featured an all-star lineup including Dlala Thukzin, Major League DJz, Jordan Arts, 2wo Bunnies, Oscar Mbo, Ciza, and De Rocka, turning the night into a masterclass of rhythm, collaboration, and innovation. Each performance reflected the global influence of African music and the unity that continues to define the Africa Is Not A Jungle movement.

But this wasn’t just about the music — it was about purpose. With R20 from every ticket going directly to the Black Coffee Foundation, attendees were part of something bigger — helping fund programs that create opportunities for creative youth across South Africa.

“Seeing so many people come together in celebration of African creativity while also contributing to a meaningful cause was deeply inspiring. We’re grateful for the support and now look ahead to the upcoming Black Coffee Benefit Concert, where we’ll host an Africa Is Not A Jungle stage dedicated to purpose and performance.”

said Lungie Mapumulo, CEO of the Black Coffee Foundation

Smirnoff ICE’s partnership brought an extra layer of vibrancy to the experience. With its bold activations, immersive zones, and chilled refreshment, Smirnoff ICE kept the energy alive all night long — a perfect match for a movement defined by connection, creativity, and cultural pride.

“Partnering with Africa Is Not A Jungle is a perfect fit for Smirnoff ICE. It’s a platform that celebrates African creativity and excellence — the same energy our brand stands for.”

said Ifeoma Agu, Head of Culture: South West Africa

The Africa Is Not A Jungle movement continues to challenge perceptions and redefine narratives, proving that Africa is not a place to be discovered, but a force shaping global culture. The Durban showcase was a resounding success — not just for its sold-out crowd, but for what it represents: the unstoppable power of music, community, and collaboration.

Through its ongoing partnership with Smirnoff ICE and the Black Coffee Foundation, Africa Is Not A Jungle is taking African creativity beyond the stage — empowering communities, inspiring new generations, and amplifying the spirit of Mzansi.
