MAHINDRA FUSION FEST 2026 BUILD-UP KICKS OFF AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN
The Mahindra Fusion Fest — South Africa’s boldest celebration of art, fashion, and music — is officially back for 2026 and ready to set the stage for a nationwide creative movement. Following the overwhelming success of Fusion Fest 2025, which attracted over 7,000 fans, Mahindra is expanding its reach with a pan-South African tour that celebrates local culture, creativity, and community.
With pre-ticket sales opening later this month and a nationwide talent search now live, the countdown to 7 March 2026 has officially begun.
The Build-Up Begins at UCT
The Mahindra Fusion Fest Build-Up Tour kicked off in spectacular style at the University of Cape Town, where over 3,000 students, influencers, and media personalities gathered for an electrifying launch event. Hosted by Nomuzi ‘Moozlie’ Mabena, the event was packed with energy, live music, and creative showcases.
Rising star Zee Nxumalo lit up the stage with a show-stopping performance, setting the tone for what’s to come. Attendees were treated to an immersive brand experience featuring art installations, a fashion showcase, and interactive games, all capturing the festival’s vibrant spirit.
Among those spotted at the launch were Kelly Kikx, Kyeezi, Ryle Rene De Morny, Neevan Ferris, Thabiet Amardien, Lucian Albertyn, and Missy Roberts, all joining in the celebration of creativity, culture, and connection.
Mahindra x Music: The Sound of Fusion
Mahindra is calling on unsigned local artists to showcase their originality by submitting short tracks inspired by the theme of fusion — blending sounds, genres, and cultures.
Submissions will be judged by Zee Nxumalo alongside a panel of music industry experts, with the winning artist receiving R30 000 and a performance slot at the main festival.
Mahindra x Fashion: Where Culture Meets Style
The #MahindraFashionSearch invites young designers to express their vision of fusion through up to four original sketches. Whether drawing from tradition or experimenting with modern aesthetics, designers stand a chance to gain industry recognition, exposure, and a R30 000 cash prize.
Mahindra x Art: The Canvas of Creativity
Emerging visual artists are also being given a platform to shine. From painting and photography to sculpture and digital art, creatives are invited to submit works that interpret fusion through culture, medium, or message. The top entry will walk away with R30 000 and an opportunity to exhibit at the festival.
Mahindra 3XO Challenge: Drive, Vibe & Win
Adding to the excitement, Mahindra is giving fans a chance to get behind the wheel with the 3XO Challenge. Attendees at selected roadshows can test drive the all-new Mahindra XUV 3XO, stand a chance to win VIP Fusion Fest tickets, exclusive merch, and even a weekend getaway experience.
This high-energy challenge not only showcases Mahindra’s latest compact SUV but also brings the festival’s spirit to the open road.
