South African music heavyweight and Afrotainment boss DJ Tira has returned with a fresh new project titled ‘Izinsimbi Za Makoya’, following the massive success of his previous release, Khuphuka, which has officially achieved Gold status.
A true pioneer and icon in Durban’s gqom and house music scene, DJ Tira continues to prove why he remains one of the country’s most enduring hitmakers. Khuphuka not only dominated radio airwaves and club playlists nationwide but also reflected his unmatched ability to fuse traditional gqom energy with innovative collaborations, elevating the genre’s presence both locally and globally.
With Izinsimbi Za Makoya, DJ Tira builds on that momentum, presenting fans with a vibrant fusion of beats, soulful hooks, and dancefloor-ready anthems. The EP stays true to Afrotainment’s legacy of showcasing South Africa’s finest talent, introducing fresh voices alongside established collaborators.
The star-studded project features contributions from Pcee, Zee Nxumalo, Tipcee, Naak, SunOrnza, Campmasters, and several others. Each track carries the unmistakable Tira flair — infectious rhythm, bold energy, and the spirit of Durban’s dance culture.
“This new EP is about keeping the energy alive, offering people something fresh, and showing the world that Durban remains the heartbeat of the dance scene,”.
