More Than a Competition
The Diners Club Barista of the Year is about more than recognition—it’s a platform to celebrate the art of coffee-making and the dedicated baristas who bring joy with every pour. With no entry fee, the contest empowers coffee shops to showcase their star talent, strengthen customer loyalty, and attract new patrons.
Participating cafés receive a QR code that allows customers to vote—one vote per till slip—integrating seamlessly into the customer experience. Diners Club also drives nationwide awareness with four months of marketing and social media campaigns, spotlighting baristas and their craft.
The 2025 edition saw record growth, with 194 establishments and 278 baristas entering—more than double last year’s numbers. This surge reflects the growing passion for coffee culture in South Africa.
Celebrating Coffee Excellence
Estiaan’s victory will be commemorated with a video interview shared across Diners Club’s social media platforms, as well as an in-depth feature in Signature Magazine. His journey stands as inspiration for baristas everywhere—proof that passion, skill, and heart can turn coffee into a true art form.
