Universal TV (DStv Channel 117) is bringing viewers a gripping new drama, Murder in a Small Town, premiering on 2 September 2025 at 20:00. The eight-part series will air every Tuesday evening, leading up to its season finale on 21 October 2025.
The series stars an impressive ensemble including Rossif Sutherland (The Handmaid’s Tale), Kristin Kreuk (Smallville), Marcia Gay Harden (The Morning Show), James Cromwell (Succession), Stana Katic (Castle), Savonna Spracklin (Yellowstone), Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Galactica), and Fritzy-Klevans Destine (Riverdale).
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of North America’s Pacific coastline, the show reimagines the police procedural with a mix of mystery, suspense, and psychological depth. Adapted from L.R. Wright’s acclaimed detective novels, the story follows Karl Alberg, a former big-city investigator seeking peace in the coastal town of Gibsons. But his retreat soon turns dark as he uncovers the secrets and crimes hidden beneath the town’s picturesque surface.

Produced by Future Shack Entertainment and Sepia Films, in association with ITV Studios, the series was written by Ian Weir, Sherry White, Jennifer Kennedy, Leonard Dick, and Dennis Heaton, with direction by Milan Cheylov, Leslie Hope, and Amanda Tapping.
