This August, in honour of Women’s Month, Mzansi Magic Music proudly celebrates the fierce, feminine forces that continue to shape South Africa’s soundscape. Her Story returns for its third season — a powerful tribute to the women who dared to be different, who refused to shrink, and who rewrote the rules of music on their own terms.

Premiering Sunday, 17 August at 11:00, Her Story is more than just a music series — it’s a love letter to the bold, brilliant, and unapologetically powerful women who have defined eras and inspired generations.

This season features the voices and journeys of:

• Amanda Black, whose soul-stirring anthems speak to identity and resilience.
• Zoe Modiga, a fearless innovator blending genres and traditions into her unique sonic storytelling.
• Bucie, the velvet-voiced queen who shaped South Africa’s house music legacy.
• Lady Zamar, an artist of reinvention whose sound continues to break boundaries.

These women didn’t just create music — they created movements. They embodied strength in softness, beauty in defiance, and power in authenticity. They proved that longevity in music comes from staying true to oneself and breaking moulds instead of fitting into them.

Each episode of Her Story is a stand-alone celebration of legacy, blending intimate performances, raw reflections, and rare archive footage. Season 3 poses vital questions: What does it mean to thrive in a world that tries to define you? And more importantly: What power is unleashed when you define yourself?

This Women’s Month, step into the stories of icons who turned their struggles into soundtracks, and their voices into movements.

✨ Come witness the women. Come celebrate their sound. Come feel Her Story.

📺 Her Story Season 3 premieres on Sunday, 17 August at 11:00, only on Mzansi Magic Music (DStv Channel 321). Catch repeats every Thursday at 18:00 and Saturday at 15:00.
