Jojo Robinson on The Real Housewives of Durban, Joku, and Life After Season 5
The Real Housewives of Durban may have wrapped its explosive fifth season, but the buzz is far from over. The Showmax Original reality series recently bagged the Simon Mabhunu Sabela KZN Film and Television Award for Best TV Production, solidifying Let It Rain Films’ status as one of the country’s top reality producers.
And at the heart of it all? Jojo Robinson.
The outspoken, tattooed blonde has been a central figure on RHOD since Season 2. As the wife of South African kickboxing champion Calven Robinson and mother to nine-year-old Rocco, Jojo has consistently balanced bold vulnerability with fiery loyalty—traits that have made her a fan favourite and tabloid regular.
Life After Season 5
Reflecting on the latest season, Jojo admits it wasn’t all glitz and glam.
“Apart from a few really hard things, I really enjoyed this season. I loved getting to know the new girls.”

Jojo also believes she’s evolved tremendously since first joining the franchise.
“I am literally a whole new person. I wouldn’t even know where to start.”
As for fame, Jojo’s taken it all in stride.
“It’s become normal life for me. I’m always happy and grateful to meet anyone who loves the show.”
The Joku Saga and Her Bond with Nonku
Fans of RHOD will know that Jojo’s friendship-turned-feud with Nonku Williams has been one of the show’s most talked-about storylines. While the once-tight duo—known affectionately as “Joku”—have drifted apart, Jojo remains introspective and respectful about their journey.
“I’m appreciative of the years we spent together and the love I had for her. Maybe in the future we will get to speak, but for now, I have peace in knowing that I loved hard.”

On Sorisha, Celebrity Friendships & Favourite Moments
Jojo’s highlight from Season 5? A sentimental moment in the very first episode.
“Our vow renewal in episode 1—and reuniting with Sorisha and finding a way to a friendship again.”
And when it comes to celebrity connections, she gushes over one in particular:
“I absolutely love Khanyi Mbau. We speak often and get compared to being sisters a lot.”
Looking Ahead
Jojo hopes that, whatever the future holds, the RHOD cast can continue growing as a unit.
“To maintain peace, find real healing for those who need it, and continue to grow as a group.”
As for a potential sixth season, Jojo is diplomatic about casting choices:
“I think it’s best we let the professionals decide on whoever they think is best suited.”
And if Season 5 were a cosmetic procedure?
“A tummy tuck—painful AF, but worth it in the end.”
With the Simon Mabhunu Sabela Award now under its belt and loyal viewers still invested in the lives of Durban’s most glamorous women, it’s clear The Real Housewives of Durban remains a cultural phenomenon. Jojo’s journey—full of transformation, love, drama, and resilience—is a testament to the franchise’s lasting impact.
