Award-winning broadcaster and media personality Carol Ofori made a powerful statement at the 2025 Hollywoodbets Durban July, embodying the theme ‘Marvels of Mzansi’ through three striking fashion looks that celebrated South African culture, creativity, and excellence.
Held on Saturday, 5 July at the iconic Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse, this year’s Durban July honoured the spirit of South Africa — from its heritage and resilience to its global achievements. Carol Ofori, ever the trailblazer, embraced the occasion with three distinct ensembles styled by The Fifth — a formidable collective of four Black female designers from KwaZulu-Natal, renowned for their Afro-chic aesthetic and bold storytelling through fashion.
A Tribute to Victory and Unity
Carol’s first look of the day was a breathtaking white gown designed by Sibu Msimang, celebrating the Protea — South Africa’s national flower — and the national cricket team recently crowned champions. The gown captured both symbolic grace and contemporary flair, representing unity, triumph, and the enduring beauty of the South African spirit.
Glamour and Excellence in Gold
For her second outfit, Carol stepped out in a glamorous gold creation by Zama Gumede of Zaviar Fashion House. This look paid homage to South African brilliance in the arts and entertainment industry — a glowing representation of opulence, success, and cultural impact.
