South African media icon Felicia Mabuza-Suttle has just dropped some exciting news on Instagram—Grammy Award-nominated singer, songwriter, producer, and actress Keri Hilson is heading to Mzansi in July!
Felicia shared a touching moment she had after returning from Europe and dining at her favorite American Bistro, Houston’s Restaurant. To her delight, she bumped into none other than Keri Hilson herself.
“What a beautiful, warm, talented artist. As we say in South Africa, or better yet in #Mzansi, she has #ubuntu.”
Felicia wrote,
For Felicia—who playfully admitted to being “too young” to keep up with the newer R&B stars—it was a moment of discovery. A quick Google search later, she was in awe of Hilson’s accomplishments: two Grammy nominations, a BET Award, an NAACP Image Award, and two Soul Train Awards, among many others.
Felicia’s post also gave a nostalgic nod to the beloved #FeliciaShow, a cornerstone of South African talk television in the 90s and early 2000s. She mused that if the show were still on air, Keri Hilson would certainly be a guest, performing hits like Knock You Down (featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo), Pretty Girl Rock, Single, and her latest release, Say That.
The post, accompanied by a short video, has already sparked excitement across social media, with South African fans eagerly anticipating Keri Hilson’s upcoming visit.
Mzansi, are you ready to roll out the red carpet?
