South African musician and creative force Kingsley is poised to make waves with the release of his debut album Kountry Klub King on 13th June —a symbolic date that also marks his birthday. Known for pushing sonic boundaries, Kingsley delivers a bold, genre-defying body of work that fuses hip hop grit with the feel-good energy of pop, resulting in an album that is as globally appealing as it is deeply personal.
ABOUT KOUNTRY KLUB KING
Crafted over two years in Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Harare, Kountry Klub King captures Kingsley’s journey of self-discovery and artistic growth. The 14-track project features a dynamic blend of hard-hitting rap verses, infectious hooks, and vibrant productions. Drawing influences from South Africa’s diverse musical landscape and global pop culture, the album reflects a fusion of sounds, emotions, and cultures.
The lead single, Are You That Somebody, has dropped, giving fans a first taste of what to expect. The album also boasts notable collaborations with rising and established talents such as Flow Jones JR, BiggaBeatz, Tarri, Sastii, and LaCabra.
ABOUT KINGSLEY
Born Kingsley Kalinde, the Pretoria-based artist, producer, songwriter, and engineer represents a new generation of genre-fluid African talent. From a young age, Kingsley was immersed in a musical household, blending his early love for hip hop with the R&B, soul, and pop played by his parents. His solo career took flight while studying at the University of Pretoria, as the local Pitori Hip-Hop and Amapiano scenes began to flourish.
He founded Kountry Klub Records as a platform to amplify his voice and vision. Kingsley has since worked with platinum-selling and award-winning artists including LaCabra, Sastii (Qwellers), Flow Jones Jr, Dooushii, Inno, and Usmokolo of the Grammy-nominated group Just6.
With Kountry Klub King, Kingsley not only cements his position as one of South Africa’s most promising voices, but also delivers a soundtrack that’s honest, uplifting, and unapologetically real.
Follow Kingsley on social media and stream Kountry Klub King on all major platforms from 13 June.
