Beatkozina’s ‘Merhba’ Remix EP Welcomes a Global Groove Fusion in 2025

Beatkozina, the genre-defying duo bridging London and Marrakech, return in 2025 with a powerful remix package of their standout 2024 release Merhba—an Afro-house meets Chicago loft anthem that now gets a fresh reinterpretation through four unique sonic lenses on Compost Records.

The Merhba Remix EP is a multicultural celebration of rhythm and roots. ‘Merhba’, meaning “welcome” in Arabic, becomes even more inviting in its new form, thanks to remixers Laroye, Moodorama, Chocolate Garage Production, and Inkswel—each bringing their own electronic dialect to the table.

Laroye, recently acclaimed for his Galliano remix via Brownswood, delivers an ethereal and musically respectful reimagining, accentuating the spiritual essence of the original. Moodorama (noted for recent work with Jazzanova and youANDme) injects a deeper, club-ready pulse with undeniable bounce. Chocolate Garage Production from Cologne strips the track to its minimalist core, turning the airy house vibe into a stark, hypnotic groove. Meanwhile, Inkswel reshapes the track into a broken beat journey, transporting it to a new rhythmic hemisphere.

At the heart of it all is Beatkozina—formed by Moroccan DJ and musician Mehdi Naami and French jazz drummer/composer Gregory Jouandon. As multi-instrumentalists, their musical vision blends electronic innovation with traditional world music roots. Their soundscape explores African rhythms, Moroccan trance, Indian classical elements, and jazz-infused Afro-Latin vibes—all through the lens of contemporary electronica.

The Merhba Remix EP doesn’t just remix a track—it reaffirms Beatkozina’s mission: to create tribal yet modern sonic connections across continents, built on a foundation of identity, minimalism, and deep-rooted rhythm.

Out now on Compost Records, this remix EP is a must-listen for Afro-house lovers, global beat heads, and electronic music explorers.
