Our Experience at Archive Fourways Mall Store Opening: A Celebration of Creativity & Culture

Archive Fourways Mall: More Than Just a Store

On 15 March 2025, Archive, South Africa’s premier sneaker and streetwear retailer, opened its brand-new store at Fourways Mall (Shop NG82), Johannesburg. This isn’t just a store relocation—it’s the next step in Archive’s evolution as a creative hub, where fashion, art, and culture collide. The new space is bigger, bolder, and more immersive, designed not just for shopping but as a platform for artistic expression.

The launch event was a vibrant celebration of self-expression, community, and creativity, powered by PUMA and KidSuper Studios. Attendees were treated to a tote bag customization workshop, live DJ sets, and an exclusive preview of the latest PUMA x KidSuper collection, which merges football-inspired streetwear with bold, artistic designs.

The Archive Artist Project Arrives in Johannesburg

One of the highlights of the opening was The Artist Project, an initiative that transforms Archive’s physical and digital spaces into curated galleries, giving South African artists a platform to showcase their work.

For this launch, Johannesburg-based illustrator and animator Dada Marumo presented his Afro-Surrealist art, inspired by Black identity, agency, and creative expression. His work was designed in celebration of the PUMA x KidSuper collaboration, a collection that fuses bold graphics and artistic storytelling into classic football silhouettes.

PUMA Powers the Future of Archive

As a long-time partner of Archive, PUMA played a key role in the store’s launch celebrations, hosting immersive brand activations and live creative sessions. This partnership is a reflection of a shared vision where fashion is more than just apparel—it’s a cultural movement.

The PUMA x KidSuper collection, available at Archive stores, embodies this philosophy, blending sport and art in a way that speaks to the heart of streetwear culture.

A Creative Hub for Local Artists & the Community

Archive’s new Fourways store redefines the traditional retail experience by serving as a hybrid space where commerce meets creativity. Beyond offering sought-after fashion and footwear, this store will:

  • Host conversations with local creatives
  • Feature curated exhibitions & live activations
  • Provide a platform for South African artists to showcase & sell their work

This aligns with Archive’s Artist Project, an ongoing initiative that seeks to uplift and provide visibility for local talent both locally and internationally.
