One of the 10 most streamed titles on Showmax in 2024, The Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) is back for its highly anticipated fifth season, promising more glitz, drama, and unexpected twists. Showmax has just released an exclusive sneak peek, giving fans a taste of what’s to come.
Nonku’s Emotional Reflection
The first-look clip opens with Nonku Williams in prayer, seeking guidance for the journey ahead.
“God is a God of second chances. I’ve messed up in the past, but God always has His arms open,”.
she says, setting a reflective and emotional tone for the season
As one of the longest-serving Housewives, Nonku’s personal growth and struggles continue to be a focal point of the show.
The Returning Queens
Four familiar faces are returning to RHOD this season:
- Nonku Williams – A powerhouse known for her resilience and fiery personality.
- Sorisha Naidoo – The ever-elegant and influential businesswoman who has been part of the franchise since its inception.
- Jojo Robinson – The outspoken and edgy Housewife who joined in Season 2.
- Angel Ndledla – A bold and glamorous addition from Season 4.
With these four at the forefront, viewers can expect shifting alliances, high-stakes drama, and more luxury-laden storylines.
New Faces, New Drama
While the official lineup of new cast members remains under wraps, anticipation is high. Given the explosive Season 4 finale, where Sorisha dramatically exited the reunion and severed ties with Jojo and Nonku, the introduction of fresh personalities is sure to shake things up.
In Season 4, the cast was split into two rival camps:
- Sorisha’s camp: Angel Ndledla, Slee Ndlovu, and Ameigh Thompson.
- Nonku’s camp: Jojo Robinson, Maria Valaskatzis, and Zama Ngcobo.
With these divisions still lingering, Season 5 is expected to bring intense confrontations and unexpected reconciliations.
What to Expect in Season 5
According to Sam Kelly, executive producer at Let it Rain Films, Season 5 is set to be a game-changer.
“This season, the cast dynamics have shifted in unexpected ways, offering a new look, feel, and energy that will keep you hooked from start to finish.”
He also promises that RHOD will continue to deliver on every front:
- Explosive conflicts that could reshape friendships.
- Lavish lifestyles showcasing the glamour of Durban’s elite.
- Personal growth journeys that reveal the Housewives’ vulnerabilities.
- Shocking twists that will leave audiences gasping.
