Porto Vecchio by AUGUSTE & Wisdom

The “Porto Vecchio EP” by AUGUSTE, featuring the soulful vocals of Wisdom, is a remarkable debut project that radiates warmth and elegance. Crafted over two years, this EP embodies a deep collaborative journey, distilled from over 20 original tracks to two standout pieces that seamlessly blend cultural influences and innovative sounds. This release marks a significant evolution for AUGUSTE as he arranges a cohesive and thoughtful body of work, showcasing meticulous production and a refined artistic direction.

The title track, “Porto Vecchio,” is an homage to its namesake with its intricate yet accessible composition. Created during a stay in Porto Vecchio, the song came together organically, with a guitar riff and drum-based groove forming its heart. The track’s warm, inviting tones are punctuated by an Amapioano-esque log-drum that maintains its gritty essence despite the higher tempo. The quick, inspired collaboration between AUGUSTE and Wisdom on this track captures the spontaneity and vibrancy of its creation.

‘Silent Echoes,’ on the other hand, takes listeners on a more introspective journey. This track, which evolved over two years, layers nostalgic melodies with complex drum grooves to create a rich, textured soundscape. Wisdom’s evocative vocals weave through the intricate arrangement, adding a poignant emotional layer. The use of analog elements like the Moog Sub 37 brings depth and drive, ensuring the track resonates on both an emotional and sonic level. This blend of nostalgic introspection and energetic rhythms makes “Silent Echoes” a compelling piece that stands out in the club scene while still maintaining a connection to more reflective moments.
