Following two singles which both garnered play on BBC 6 Music, US duo Kuf Knotz & Christine Elise present their eagerly anticipated new album, ‘Hypnagogia’ (Release Date: April 9th, 2024), which features guest appearances from Speech (Arrested Development) and John Robinson (Scienz Of Life) among others.

Named Philadelphia Magazine’s Best Rapper of 2022, Küf Knotz (Producer/MC) and Christine Elise (Harpist/Vocalist) have brought their unique blend of hip-hop, soul and classical traditions to various communities. The unlikely pair connected and built a similar bond to creating positive, forward thinking music fusing hip-hop with the boom bap era and lo-fi inspired beats supported by the harp. Their performance takes you on an era fusing, genre bending journey. And, you can dance to it. The duo has opened for Wyclef Jean, Yellowman, Rising Appalachia, Slick Rick, Say She She, Afroman, Wax Tailor (US Tour Support), Liniker, G-Love, Talib Kweli, Ozomatli, Raging Fya, Eubanks & Evans Experience, Digable Planets and have been featured on NPR Music and WHYY.

The word Hypnagogia describes the state between wakefulness and sleep. It is common to experience visual, audio, or other types of hallucinations. This perfectly described the mood and vibe of the album. ‘Hypnagogia’ sounds a bit different from any other music the duo have previously released. Full of vivid imagery, surrealism, mysticism, futuristic and dreamy soundscapes, the duo was drawn to naming the collection ‘Hypnagogia’. Kuf Knotz’s production creates a sonic landscape of lo-fi and boom-bap infused beats, melding the 90’s into the now. Christine’s mesmerizing vocals and ethereal harp takes this innovative sound to a new dimension.
