Jst Sako is one artist that never shies away from finding connecting lines between music genres. The release of his sophomore EP, ‘Meraki’ creatively showcases his experimental nature and approach to music, painting a clear picture of an African man that advocates for true love in different forms.

Known for his Afro-fusion soundscape, Sako aims to keep listeners engaged with the song writing that accompanies the composition of each song. The release of his new EP, ‘Meraki’ serves as a celebration and coincides with the announcement of one of his previous singles, ‘Molo’ being featured on South Africa‘s highly anticipated season 3 of the popular Netflix series, ‘Blood & Water.’

Jst Sako gives us four compositions that not only illustrate his vulnerability as a man, but also his genius as a sound designer, artist and song writer. The songs titled ‘Cha Cha’, ‘Flaws’ featuring Cap City‘s poetic rapper PDot O, ‘Pata Pata’ & ‘Blessings’ are musical pieces that capture Sako’s strong messaging, uniquely structured vocals and melodic performances. Most importantly, the celebration of sound and soul… the true expression of self through his music.

“It’s a thin line between soul & and sound” is Sako’s way of saying he never wants to shackle himself to a genre and always refers to his soundscape as his soul’s expression. This is very evident in his project which has a mixture of R&B, Afro-beats, live guitar, Trap-soul and Amapiano elements knitting it together.
