Technology and beauty go hand in hand
Leading global technology brand OPPO entered the South African market in October with the promise to open the eyes of the nation to something beautiful. They have enlisted trailblazing local creatives Bee Diamondhead, Seth Pimental (aka African Ginger) and Clive Mphasi (aka Young Stilo) to help build their local campaign of creating beauty and challenge South Africa to make, capture and share it. The three creatives will join OPPO’s global partners Eddie Redmayne, Mohamed Salah and Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) to spread the magic of technology to all corners of the earth.
“When OPPO explored entering the South African market, the first thought was how a world-leading technology brand could make a positive impact on the lives of ordinary South Africans,” “The world and our country has been through so much in 2020 and OPPO wants to put up a beacon of hope by spreading beauty through the nation and showing that technology is an enabler for creativity.”
explains Liam Faurie, Head of GTM for OPPO South Africa
Renowned stylist Bee Diamondhead, artist and illustrator African Ginger and videographer and photographer Young Stilo will use their talents to create and share uniquely South African beauty, as seen, created and experienced by them. They will show how they embrace technology and make it an integral part of their creative process.
They each define beauty in a different way and their diverse projects – that will be shown next year – all hit a different beat in an aesthetic symphony that will reverberate throughout South Africa.
“To make a beautiful moment turn inward,” “I find beauty in the quiet moments where I zone into my craft and find this window where everything is harmonious. My thoughts match the song that I’m listening to and it all translates onto canvas. The process is beautiful – not only the result. We challenge South Africans to make beautiful food, beautiful conversation and beautiful moments”
says Seth Pimental (aka African Ginger)
Bee Diamondhead feels that beauty is about starting where you are with what you have such as,
“wearing a beautiful outfit, cooking a good meal, watching a moving film and sharing it with others around you. We have access to the world through the internet so it’s about staying inspired and making things that uplift the quality of our lives.”

The three creative partners have started the chain reaction to make something beautiful, and now OPPO encourages South Africans to go out and define beauty for themselves, capturing and spreading it all around our nation by using the hashtag #MakeSomethingBeautiful and #OPPOChallenge and tagging @opposouthafrica.
