Vodacom’s new digital music service, ‘My Muze’ has joined forces with TurnUp Music as the official service partner for local, independent artists to submit their music for digital distribution.

Creatives in South Africa have for a long time, voiced the need to find a platform for the expression of authentic cultural narratives and nothing tells these unique stories better than music.  

We’re delighted to announce the partnership between TurnUp Music and My Muze as it is a significant move for local talent. It collectively brings hot new rising stars as well as the big guns of the game together onto one platform that fully supports the development and promotion of South African talent.

Streaming services have brought on a new dawn in music sales. After years of decreases in revenue due to piracy and alternate access channels, the music industry has seen some great growth globally. In SA, according to a RISA report, music streaming grew by a massive 67% last year and digital sales now contributes close to 80% of all music sales. This has resulted in several independent artists taking ownership of their work and utilizing online tools to better their careers.

My Muze announced the launch of a talent search that is running in partnership with TurnUp Music at the 25th instalment of the South African Music Awards held at Sun City, North West on the 1st of June 2019. This will see one lucky, talented musician being recognised and rewarded for his/her great work through winning a star-studded package worth R500k. The package comprises of R250K in cash, a professionally produced track, a collaboration with an A list artist, a music video, exclusive access to industry mentors and 12 months with a team of professionals that will have the artist’s back.
