Manu Grace is the latest talent selected for the Apple Music New Artist Spotlight this March. With a recently released debut EP titled “June” she is a new star in the making. The singer, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist has an eclectic sound, with down-to-earth and elegant lyrics – Manu possesses an inner beauty which reflects in her stage presence.

Passionate about music since her childhood, Manu Grace started experimenting with piano, guitar and bass guitar from the age of eight. She soon went from learning to play covers to creating her own tracks, her first piece being a dedication to her new born brother. The school stage offered the chance to test her talent and to overcome her shyness, where she joined her first band, Aztec Sapphire during matric finals!

It was after graduating from UCT that she began to learn the fine art of music production. Her artistic expression has an unapologetic and sincere approach with words which can touch the heart of her audience. Amongst others her musical influences include Rosalia, Christine & the Queens and Mica Levi. Manu’s musical style is free from inhibition and has no pretenses. She is creating a platform for her heartfelt vibes which softly speak to audiences far and wide.

Through Cape Town independent label KuduKudu Records (Diamond Thug, World of Birds) and in collaboration with Beatenberg’s Ross Dorkin and Robin Brink she has released 2 singles to date. Her recently released debut EP, “June” features 6 tracks including “Milestones”, “Rein Her In”, “Saturday Night”, “I Can’t Tell”, “Rudely Conspicuous” and her debut single “However”.

Says Manu Grace,“The acknowledgment feels surreal. It’s a highlight in my career to be chosen as the Apple Music New Artist Spotlight. I truly am a new artist in the public eye, and to have so much support behind the music so early on feels really incredible.”
