Zulu Funk biologically named: Yona Vilakazi, Born and Raised in KZ, Ulundi.

A female deejay that’s rooted in Afro, Electronic House music. From recording with tapes/cassette from her favorite radio show, after finishing Varsity she relocated to the slow town of: Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth where she ended up working in a bar/ Deejaying as well.

A year and a half, She relocates to Johannesburg and polishes her mixing skills and shortly opens up for: Design Indaba, Toya Delazy’s-Rocking the city African tour, Oppikoppi , Midem Music Accelerator , Johannesburg Pride to name a few.

“As an artist, I Feel there is a great shortage of female producers and artist in general.” This is what she thrives to accomplish in her music craft. “I want to create a phenomenal piece of work, which only appreciates and embraces female artist and their uniqueness musically.

She had the privilege to work with Great Female artist: Moonchild Sanelly, Toya Delazy.

Zulu Funk is a great fan of fashion and art,   who is currently working on a range for release.
